GETTING STARTED WITH IO-LINK ON YOUR PLC
Overview
A one day hands-on course covering the 4 steps you need to get your sensors communicating data with your PLC.
By the end of the course you will be able to control and monitor sensors from your PLC and collect data which can be used to increase plant efficiency and productivity.
£650 plus VAT per person, 2nd person per company £325 + VAT. As places are limited there is a maximum of 2 people per company allowed on any one date.
Each company that completes the training will receive a SICK IO-Link Master Starter Kit worth £295. (1 per company).
Who should attend
Engineers, Machine Builders, End Users with basic knowledge and above of PLC programming.
To get the most out of the course, attendees should have some experience of using Siemens TIA Portal.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the training you will be able to:
- Install an IO-Link master, the interface between your PLC and sensors
- Understand the capabilities of IO-Link sensors and the data that can be collected
- Install a sensor on your PLC and communicate basic IO
- Use Function Blocks that give you greater control and access to the data on-board the sensors
Each attendee will be able to write a programme to control multiple sensors and receive data that can be used to monitor their performance and allow simple replacement.
Agenda
The day will run from 9.30am until 4.30pm and will be split as follows:
Morning
- IO-Link Master installation demo and hands-on
- SOPAS sensor integration tool demo
- Sensor installation to a PLC demo and hands-on
- Function Block installation demo and hands-on
Afternoon
- Hands-on. Develop your own programme for sensor control, quality control and predictive maintenance
