Advanced Track & Trace Technology for the Tire Industry

Tire manufacturers require a variety of different sensors on production lines in order to effectively monitor processes. The most common technology used to track and trace tires in a facility is barcodes. These are relatively inexpensive and can monitor the entire life cycle of a tire in the manufacturing process. But new technologies are emerging that may provide additional benefits to tire producers.

The use of UHF technology is exponentially increasing and it’s easy to see why.  Unlike barcodes, tags survive both the manufacturing and road conditions. And though it used to be a fairly expensive option, the costs of tags has decreased substantially.
