Unlike 2D vision solutions, 3D machine vision captures height and depth information, enabling precise measurement of object dimensions, surface profiles, and volume. This capability is essential for detecting defects such as dents, warping, or misalignments—and ultimately helps improve production yield and speed.

SICK Nova offers a user-friendly web interface with point-and-click configuration and embedded assistance, making the software quick and convenient to use. The SICK Nova Dashboard provides a comprehensive overview of the selected jobs by allowing the users to add customizable widgets that highlight key metrics and provide visual insights.
Scalability
SICK Nova runs seamlessly on 2D and 3D vision sensors as well as LiDAR sensors from SICK with a common user experience regardless of the used technology. With three toolset levels to choose from, including tools with AI-based deep learning, SICK Nova provides suitable solutions for different requirements. The functionality of the software can be extended with standard or specially developed SICK Nova plug-in tools from the SICK AppPool.
